Hmmm so I guess almost a year in lack of updates suggests its about time to give this thing an update!!!

Where do we start? Well I guess it would be useful to go back to the last post. Since then, Karisa has graduated from high school and now attends the University Of Saskatchewan studying engineering. So far so good on the front. I have finished grade 10 and just started my second semester in grade 11. For those of you keeping track, that means only a mere 14 school months until I too graduate from high school! thats an exciting thought!

July was a very busty month for me. We started off with the Loewen family cruise to Alasks. That was a ton of fun! It was the first visit for us and we had a really fun time! July was also when I started my first summer working at camp. That was by far the best part of my summer. I was working as a CIT at Rosthern Youth Farm Bible Camp. It was amazing! I had a great time with the rest of the Jr. staff, met a ton of new people, and had a really awesome growing experience with God. What a great way to spend the summer! I worked for 4 weeks total. Two weeks were at kids cam, and two weeks were at Adult Special Needs Camp. I deffinately enjoyed working with the ASN camps a little bit more enjoyable. There was a nice slow pace to them, and a flexible schedule that was a very nice change from the crazy kids weeks!

uly was also the month I FINALY got to go for my driver's license. I passed first time around and have been happily enjoying the privillege of driving for about 7 months.

I am still Student Council VP and I was also chosen last year to represent our school in a Student Advisory Council with our school division Board. We meet three times a year and use that time to give student input on education and student engagement in schools. I am also a member of a Learning Sub-comittee that is trying to change how students learn in classrooms. We are looking at how students interact with their teachers and the classrooms and what we can do to modernize education. So far its been a lot of fun, and I really enjoy it.

Hopefully this update doesn't seem as choppy to al of you as it does to me. Trying to get 9 months of information can get a little scattered!!

The first piece of news: If anyone is interested in an evening of semi-professional drama, our senior drama will be doing an encore preformance of our play "Competition piece" on Wednesday May 6 to raise money to help pay for our trip to Provincial Drama competition on May 7 and 8. Anyone interested in more than welcome to come. The preformance starts at 7P.M. at the high school. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $5.00
In other news, I have been accepted to work as a CIT this summer at Rosthern Youth Farm Bible Camp. Its really exciting and I am definately ready to try my hand at councelling. Also exciting: a trip to Europe next April! The school has started a travel club that will be going to Western Europe for 10 days over the Easter break next year. Its a really exciting operatunity.

Regional Champs

So this weekend was the regional Drama Competition is Rosetown. This was the first year that our school has gone to regionals and there were lots of REALLY good performances and they were all pretty intimidating. There were eight schools and they all performed really well.
We managed to walk away with seven awards including my award for spirit of the festival and our school won the best overall drama performance! It was so surprising and we were all really excited. Now in May, we are going to Regina to do Provincials! WE have lots to do before then but the excitement should take us till May.

overdue update

It's been a while since i've updated so I'll try to give you all a quick rundown. Today is a really exciting day because our senior drama cast is going to Rosetown to participate in Drama Regionals. We have been rehersing since February and we preformed to the school audience on Tuesday and to the public Wednesday night. Both preformances went well so we are all hopeful about our first expierience at regionals. Aside from regionals, next week is our last week of class before the Easter break. Karisa will be taking off to travel around France for the break and I will be going to see The New Kids On The Block. You may say they happened "before my time" but my friend and I have commited to seeing every boyband we possibly can. The rest of my break will be spent thinking about working at Rosthern Youth Farm Bible Camp over the summer, finding a job, and figuring out how I'm going to pay for a school trip to Europe next April. It's going to be a busy few weeks and months, but I'm ready for anything!

Starting Again

So this is the first fullweek we have of classes since our new semester. We wrote finals last week and they went good. Now we are just waiting for report cards to find out how it really went :P So far the new semester is going good. Thats about al I got for right now. More to come soon

Madness is the only word that comes to mind if I try to think of the last few weeks! SChool has been rediculous with the last few days leading up to Christmas break which officially started today! Mom and I went to Miniappolis just in time for mass chaos at the Black Friday sales the last weekend in November. We got some good deals and got some Christmas Shopping done as well. Other than that, Christmas has been the biggest time consumer! More to come!

Backstreet Boys 2008

So last nigh Karisa, myself and our friend Danielle went to see the Backstreet Boys concert!! All I can say is that it was absolutely AMAZING! wow. They played a good number of old songs as well as songs from their new albums. They all also played a song from their solo albums. All of which were equally fantastic. I think I took about 200 pictures and it was so worth it! Best concert I've seen in a while.

So it's been a little while since my last post but i was postponing this until i could officially say I am a licensed driver now!!!! I FINALY got my learners today! So it's not a full license but for right now it will definately have to do. I can definately say I will be counting down the days until July 27.

So this has been a crazy month. It just slipped away before it even started. So I've been pretty busy lately. I'm working between 2 and 3 day a week at the restarant, and playing volleyball 3 day a week and then tournaments most weekends. We had our big home tournament Friday and Saturday of this last week. We did OK for being a pretty new team, but there is still room for improvement. We have a break now until the third weekend in October when we go to Melfort for a big 24 team tournament. I was also in Weyburn Saskatchewan last week for the annual Student Leadership Confrence. It was really great! we brought 15 students from Warman down for the three days. The students at Weyburn did a great job with everything. They brought in some great keynotes like Farley Flex, and Gerry Dee, and Marc Kielburger.

Busy Busy Busy

Wow! So much has been going on since we started school! So we went back to classes on August 27 and since then, I have been working at the barn for 2 weeks, I got a new job in Warman, and I finally got to play on the senior girls volleyball team! I'll explain things step by step.

So everything is going good. I have a pretty easy semester this time around becasue I only have 3 classes with homework and one of those teachers doesn't really "believe" in homework so i really only have 2 classes.

Volleyball tryouts were last week and today we found out who made the team. I was the first on the girls to make the team so that was a really cool thing! OUr season is pretty short. We have our first tournament next weekend in Rosetown and then the next weekend we have a home tournament here in Warman and then we have a tournament the irst weekend in October in Melfort and then a one day tourney in Martensville. After that is districts.

Other than school and volleyball, I'm back on Student council and this year I was voted in as Vice President/ Liason. We are heading off to Weyburn next week for the Provincial student leadership conference (which we held at our school last year).

Tomorrow I'm starting a new job in town here at the chinese resturant... should be interesting.

So thats pretty much everything wrapped up in a nut shell!

If i only ever got to expierience a once in a lifetime oppritunity once, I'm glad Europe was my chance! What an amazing place! We had such a good time and it was a definate bonus to get to see the Siemens family. So I guess I should explaine the places we got to visit. We started on London for 3 days before we started the cruise. The cruise was great. we went to Copenhagen, Denmark, just outside Berlin, Germany, Tallin Estonia, 2 days in St. Petersbourg Russia, Helsinki, Finland, Stockholm Sweden and then we went to Paris for 3 days and then my dad left to go home and the rest of us continued on the Zermatt Switzerland for a week. I liked all the cities/countries but I think Germany and Estonia were my favorites of the cruise (but of coarse I loved London and Paris!)

it still amazes me that school is finally finished for the summer and we now have 2 whole months of freedome before we are doomed to return to the classrooms for another grueling year of learning. What also amazes me is that after months of planning and waiting July first comes tomorrow and a whole month in Eurpoe begins! I can not wait to get to London and start our trip.
I'm excited about seeing the rest of our Siemens family too. It's been a while so it will be nice to catch up and see everyone.
It would be great if I could get a post in while we're gone but if not have a great first month of summer all and I'll be sure to post an endless amount of pictures ASAP!

Woo-Hoo! Another year finished. Tuesday was the last day of exams and i think i did fine on the final, yesterday and tonight are grads (congrats to both Bryan and Miranda!!) And now that I'm done school for the next two months I can fully focus on working for a few days and then start to get excited about our vacation starting on the first!

Updating the blog at 1:30 in the afternoon on a weekday in June can only mean one thing... We have FINALLY finished classes. Not to be confused with the conclusion of exams ( that's on Tuesday) but classes are done for the year and now it's time to rack our brain for a week, buckle down and study madly for finals hoping to ace them and finish the grade. This year I am writing math as my final. In some magically fantastic way, I managed to accumulate credits in all my classes except for one. Which means instead of writing the usual two finals I'm writing one! It's quite exciting and all week i've been hanging out trying to procrastinate until Monday until I really have to study.

Anyway, I'll finish up this post with a few pictures from the last couple weeks.

So instead of finding time during a caotic week to write two blog entrys I figured I would quickly post one now just for Mom and Dad. Both of them had their birthdays this week. Mom was on Sunday June 8 and Dad turns the big 4-0 today!!!! On Sunday we took mom out to East Side Mario's for lunch after church. I'm not sure what the plan for today is becasue it's the middle of the week so i'm not sure if we will be eating out?

Anyways I figured i would quickly wish a happy birthday to both parentals! Love you both. Happy birthdays!!!!!

Relay For Life 2008

Last weekend was the Relay for life. It's an anual event that's held a Diefenbaker park in Saskatoon. It's held to raise money for the canadian cancer society. I went with my school last year but this year the Loewen Family decided to make a team (all thanks to Aunt Betty!) The goal of the relay is to have at least 2 people from your team on the track at all times walking or running. Most people try and stay up for the ENTIRE 12 hours.

Retreating to the Retreat

On Wednesday morning, Our SRC (Student Representitive Council) got to go on a two day retreat to Redberry Bible Camp. The purpose was to give us a chance to get to know everyone we would be working with next year and to plan all the activities we would be doing next year. It was such a good time and an awesome expierience that let us get to know each other better than we could have if we would have just stayed at the school interacted once a week at meetings.

So we started off the retreat with a brainstorming session to get ideas for things we wanted to see at the school next year. In the evening we had a bonfire with smores and banana boats and we managed to get a impromptue(?) sing-a-long started. On Thursday we finished up our planning and had a few hours of free time so we went to the beach volleyball courts for another sing-a-long. It was so nice out (finally) that i actually got a sunburn!

To sum it up I had an absolute blast!

Well to start off, most of you blogger buddies are wondering why I am blogging to you at 1:15 in the afternoon. The answer to that is so simple. i have the day off from school!! yay! We actually got a super long weekend this week because we had friday and today off. So this is a nice little break from ALL the hard work ;) So what better way to celebrate the super long weekend than with a trip to Saskatoon to visit the guys and gals at picman tattoo. Now before you all start panicing, there was no tattooing done, but there was a nose piercing. (mine) That's right. After months of convincing, I got my nose pierced!!! It was an interesting and slightly painfull expierience but it turned out great and it looks pretty good too. A quick tip to all interested parties thinking about nose piercing, DO NOT bring your mothers with you. Mine almost started crying and pass out becasue she was so scared. but that just goes to show how much my mommy cares about me and my nose!

I think the word repetitive can sum up the events of the last little while. The daily routine is basically the same. Get up, go to school, come home, do homework, and then usually babysit. Needless to say the homefront has been pretty boring lately.

To keep you from total boredom I'll make things seem more interesting by going into detail about school and stuff. We just got report cards for this semester on friday. So basically all of last week was getting in final projects and writing exams and stuff. I did pretty well but with school apparently, there's always room for improvement.

Other than school, i've been doing a lot of babysitting to make some money. I don't mind babysitting too much but sometimes when I feel pretty pathetic that basically all I do is babysit and go to school :)

In other news: spring is officially here. Yesterday was the first really nice day we've had this year. The sun was finally out and I got my flip flops out and the snow was melting.

I was really excited this week cause I finally got to go by flowers. i have been waiting all winter to buy tulips and I finally got some last Saturday.

So i've been getting complaints from some blog fans that I haven't been doing my job and updating as often as I should. So here I am updating for all the fans eagerly antisipating this post. I'm sorry if this post jumps from one events to another but i now know what happens when you abandon your blog for long periods of time.

I guess I sould go back as far as February. So after my last post, the first big event was valentine's day which was a pretty good time. as you can see from the photo all my friends got flowers so we decided to take a group photo.

So for February break, my mom took me and Karisa to minniapolis to do some serious shopping at the Mall of America. It was really fun but it was a long time to be shopping in my opinion, but I did find some really good deals.

We recently bought a Wii and guitar hero. My dad and sister have been going a little Guitar Hero crazy so i figured i should post some pictures so that you too can expierience the chaos. I hope thats a specific enough post for you guys. I'll keep in touch!

Another Week

So we finished yet another week of school. The last few weeks have seemed reaslly long because at the begining of the year it was really uncommon for us to go two weeks without getting a break so the weeks have been really long.

This week had another first for me. We have to chose the courses we want to take in the upcomming school year around this time of year and this year is the firdt year I've had to do that. It was really challenging to say the least.

Other than that, everything is fine. But I'm looking forward to the upcoming winter break!

Minor Setback..

So today was day one of a brand new semester at school. Which means i got all new classes and new teachers. i was super stoked until I got to my first class. Thats when i first expierienced that "darn" feeling. And from there the day kinda went downhill. The classes I have this semester aren't exactly ones tht I am interested in which will make it a long 4 and a half months :( But in all fairness today was only the first day so there is lots of rom for improvement (hopefully)

Wow it seems like forever since I last posted anything! Things have been getting really busy around here yet again. We just started writing finals on Friday and fortunately i have a high enough average that I only have to write 2 exams. I wrote english yesterday and it was pretty easy. Now all I have left is math on Thursday. I'm kinda dreading writing math :( Other than finals I've been occupied with my un-ending social dedication ;)

Well we finally rang in a new year! Unfortunately another year ends but another begins.

Last year was a great year with its ups and downs and twists and turns. Everyday was a surprise! Hopefully this year will be another great year filled with good times with great friends and family.

To celebrate 2008, the Loewens headed up to Hilly Side for an afternoon of sledding and ski-doing(?) It was alot of fun. After the majority of sledding was done the uncles started a nice fire to keep everyone warm and toasty. Then we finished off the say with the traditional chinese food supper. All in all the day was a blast and I for one love the afternoons spent with the Loewens!

Kelesy and I also celebrated the coming 2008 by making some cookies. They turned out really good and they tasted good too.(luckily)

So Monday is D-day. We have to go back to school again :( We have about a week and a half of classes then we go into finals (what a joy) On the bright side, we have a week off of school to study and then 2 days after finals are finished off. So i guess I can't complain too much.

I think it was. This year was the first year I have done all my Christmas shopping by myself without any input from anyone and it was a little stressfull! But I managed to get everything done with a few days to spare!

Well not quite but it's getting so close i hardly kno wwhat to do with myself anymore!So not alot has been going on the last little while, except that I have started working at the Barn Playhouse again(yay). I'm working 12 of the 15 day schedule so I've been pretty busy. This year will be 1 year that i have worked at the barn. It's been a great time and I love it. I've made alot of really great friends and havd lots of fun.

Other than my "exciting" work news, everything else has been pretty basic. School is school and not very exciting, but we are getting ready for Christmas. We have started the countdown to Christmas and we start the Christmas activities on Monday so I guess that's something to look forward to.

So recently, our family decided on the decorations for our front yard. Normally we would put up some lights and small decorations. But not this year. this year my parents found a Tony Stewart blow up race car and a Harley Davidson snowman. Now I don't know about you readers but to me a blow up race car is enough, but to add a motorcycle is really EMBARACING!!! So it's been a while since my last post, but I was really busy with school and student council and stuff like that, and I kept forgetting to blog something.

So for about 2 months, one of my friends and I have started getting together every weekend, and watching a scary movie or two. We watch movies like "when a stranger calls", or "The excersism of Emily Rose" you know normal scary movies. We have a great time so I figured I should put some pictures of our last movie night up for you to see.

So since my last post, we also had Halloween at school. It was alot of fun. We had our first pep rally and I got to plan it. It was a great time.

This has been a pretty busy week for me what with school and volleyball, etc. Don't get me wrong I still love volleyball but it gets pretty time consuming. Last weekend our team traveled to Hague for a tournament and we placed 3rd. Then we went back to Hague on Monday for a game and we lost :(. Then we had a home tournament this weekend and we placed 5th of eight teams. We have our conference tournament on October 30th which determins if we make provincials. I hope all goes well ! :)

Another Month

Well Another month has come and gone. I guess the last time I updated i was a tiny bit stressed. I'm pleased to report that that has not changed much. I am still playing volleyball (junior), I'm still doing a mentorship program and a bunch of other thigs but I've managed to balance it all out.

School is going good. This semester I am taking Lifestyles, english, drama, art,math,and science. Pretty basic but thats OK. As for volleyball, the senior team didn't work out this year, but I guess it's OK. Our first bg tournament is on the 1 which is comming up quickly.

Other than school and volleyball, I am planning on babysitting a couple days a week after school so that should be interesting. i am also doing a lot of reffing for volleyball games. i got my qualifications a couple weeks ago so I start reffing this weekend. I'm also still doing a fair bit of work at the barn.

Last but not least, I'm sure most of you heard about our school SLC confrence last week. It was AMAZING!!! We had 1200 students from all over saskatchewan come to Warman for 3 days and we had a whole bunch of speakers and stuff. We had a dance and a banquet and a GREAT time.

That's about all I can think of to say about the new school year. We are only a week in to the year and already i'm feeling a little overwhelmed. But can you blame me when i'm (unoficially) playing volleyball, joining the welcoming comittee, helping coach the grade 6/7 girls volleyball team, starting another year on student coucil, and starting the process to do a mentorship program with students in younger grades, and working at the barn playhouse regularly for about a month AND babysit 2 days a week after school? I feel like I'm gonna explode. Obviously I need to cut an activity out, but I don't know what to cut. Lots of the activities I've started where because I was asked to do them by teachers. As of right now, I think I'm gonna try and juggle all the activities and see what happens. Prayers and advice are being accepted!

This will be a quick post because I have to leave for school in a few minutes, but I just thought I would blog and see if I can get some of these nervs out! I am SOO nervous today because I am on my second day of tryouts for Senior girls volleyball at school. This is the first year I've been able to try out so as you can imagine I'm a l;ittle scarred! Making this team would be so great becasue It would give me more time to practice and further my skills! I'm really nervous and really excited! i won't find out if i made the team till the end of next week so I'll let you know soon how things go

The End Of Summer Is Here

Today is our last day of summer before we start another year of school. Just for those who don't like keeping tabs on my school life, I will be a freshman (grade 9) and Karisa will be junior (grade 11). It seems weird to already be in high school. I can still remember my first day of kindergarten!Mom was taking a million pictures and being mom. Oh well, I guess this is all part of growing up and moving on in life!

This past week has been pretty uneventful. I start a long streak of work tonight so that should keep me occupied and out of trouble :P. My parents are leaving on saturday for their 20th anniversary vacation leaving me and Ris at home to fend for ourselves for a whole week (which should be interesting). I'll let you all know how it turns out!

Winnipeg Wonderful

So this past weekend most of our Loewen family (those who were not present were missed)headed to Winnipeg for Cheryl-lynn and Lyndons Wedding. Or as they are now called, Cherylyndon. It was a great weddin gand we are all SO happy for them. Other than attending hte wedding Lori, Clint, Bryan, Michael, Karisa, Henry and Irene and I went to a dinner theatre production that was at our hotel. It was called Desperate Households. the show was a spoof of the TV show, Desperate Housewives. It was a great show with really good food. We also went to the fork which is a market and we went to the English Gardens at Assiniboine ( sorry if I spelt that wrong) park. It was a great trip all and all.

Cousins and Concerts

This week has been a blast. Sunday all us cousins had a cousin night at the Kessler house. It was a good time making bush pies and smores, and watching the movie premonition. It was nice being able to hang out with everyone.

Tuesday was a crazy day. Karisa and I went to see Nickelback in concert with Miranda at the exibition. The concert was AMAZING!! It was such a blast and we all had a super time!

The second week of July was by far the best part of my summer to date! West Portal Church had their VBS that week and I was super excited to get the chance to be a team leader. My group was called the Undercover Agents. The kids were SO much fun to be with. And I have to admit I was actually really excited to get to the church every evening so I could see the kids and be a part of their growing relationship with God. There were deffinately a few highlights of the week. The first being Tuesday when one of my kids came to the group and gave me a hug and said" I just became a christian!" I swear I almost started to cry I was super excited about that! Another highlight was the day we took all the VBS kids to Redberry Bible Camp for the day on Thurday. The bus driver got lost on the way there but otherwise it was a pretty good time. Let me just say that by the end of the week the kids didn't want to go home because they were having such a good time with their friends and hearing about God (which I was so happy to hear) but I didn't want the week to end becasue I didn't want to lose my kids! Las tweek didn't only afect the kids that attended but I don't think a single volunteer can say that they weren't affected in some way. i know for a fact that I've changed a little since then. I'm so happy I had the expierience and I will NEVER EVER forget last week. Now that the week is over I am so looking forward to next year!

Last Night our family went to go see Mamma Mia!. It was such a great show and I really enjoyed it. The musical is about a girl who invited her three possible dads to her wedding to try and figure out which of them really is her dad. And all the songs in the musical are by the band ABBA. This is one of those things where I'm gonna say that if you ever have the chance to see the musical, Do IT! because you will have a great time!

So The last couple weeks have ben a little diferent. I have been working quite a bit at the Barn Playhouse which is litteraly a barn where they host various functions and every season they have a play. I have been working in the craft barn the last couple weeks which has been pretty good, and i've made some new friends... the 2 mice that roam the floors in the barn. I swear one of them gave a a miald heart attack the first day I was working! But after a while believe it or not I got used to them beong around.

So this week was a litle boring. Not alot has been going on accept fot the fact that I turned 14!!!, FINISHED JUNIOR HIGH, my sister got her long awaited drivers licence, and my sister turned 16, and today is Canada day. But like i said, not much is going on. These next couple weeks are going to be a little busy but thats ok given as how ot much will be going on during summer. My family got tickets to see MAMMA MIA this week, then next week I'll get to be a team leader for Vacation Bible School at West Portal wich i'm really looking forward too, and I have a volleyball training camp at the end of July at the University Of Saskatchewan. At least on the bright side I'll have lots to post about over the next little while!

Well As of 3:00 today I have 1 week left of regular classes until exams start which is gonna be stressful again but exciting I think.Today was also awards day in school, and I was really surprised when I won the most valuble member for the junior student council. Karisa won an award too, but her award was for the highest average in grade 10 history.
For those of you that are wondering, we did perform our musical on Wednesday night and i'm really relieved that everything went ok. We did have some trouble near the end with the lights but nothing major(thankfully). Anyways, I'm sorry if this post is a little boring but not alot is going on right now which is ironic because this is the end of the school year!

Ahhh June, one of my favorite times of the year, that time when the weather is perfect, there are birthdays in the family, and oh yes school is almost over. I have officially started the countdown until that last day of school.It's the craziest thing, i'm possitive it was only a couple days ago I was sitting here writing about the first week of school!I can't believe that in a mere 14 days, I will be done with grade 8 and starting grade 9 in the fall. Although I'm super excited to finally be in high school , I'm a little sad that i have to leave junior high. But I guess that's all part of growing up.

While I'm telling you all about school, I'll let you know that things are getting crazy busy (no surprise) once again. But I'm not going to complain if teachers have more important things to do than make us sit in a class room and learn about stuff! Especially when our musical is opening in a little under 2 weeks! I'm really excited about that as well

Today is a pretty messy day outside with all the rain so I figured I'd use my day off from school as a chance to update everyone on whats going on.No alot has gone on since my last post. So i'll just use bits and pieces of events for this post. First of all, afew sundays ago, Some of the Loewen aunts and cousins went to a fashion show at the Hilton Hotel to raise money for Cancer research. It was a really good show and I thought it was a great way to raise money.

In other news folks, after almost 2 years of waiting, On Thursday, I finally got my braces taken off, I was super excited to see the final result and I must say they look pretty darn good!

Have any of you bloggers out there ever seen your high school principal and vice-principal sumo wrestle each other? Well today I had the wonderful opperitunity to see such an event. We had a pep rally, which I always enjoy, and our principal, Mr. Collins, and our VP Mr. Thomas had on their sumo suits and they battled it out. Mr Thomas won and Everyone got a good laugh from it! .

Well I have to say, this week has been by far one of the best week of the year at school. This week we had around the world week. Everyday students would dress up in costumes from different cultures like. Monday was Latino day, Tuesday was Asian day, Wednesday was Caribbean day, Thursday was Greek day and Friday was Canadian day. What made this week so fun was the different activities we did everyday. One day we learned how to salsa dance, another day we had sword fights, one day we had a gong show, one day we did chariot racing and one day we drank maple syrup. I also got the chance to be part of a Mariachi band. It was tons of fun. We walked down the halls before school and played guitars and maraccas. It was a blast although I'm sure we looked kinda weird, but thats what we do!:)

Well, Well, Well it's once again that time of year. On Monday morning we will hit the 2 month waiting pieriod until the last day of school. Some days it seems like forever but other days it seems like we just started school last week!

I am very excited for these last couple weks becasue lots will be going on. for instance, on wednesday my classs went to see the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical "Evita" it was really good!

The last two days i've been busy at school. The student council has planned to have an around the world week this week so i've been busy making decorations and posters and finding costumes and so on. the good news is, this week I'll be visiting Greece, Asia, the Caribbean,Spain,and i'll be in Canada! Thats exciting!

By now i'm sure you''re wondering what the musical part of my post title is, well all the grade 8's are putting on a musica at the end of May. It's called Disco knights. It's set in the 70's and yours truly is the student director! I'm super excited about it. I'll let you all know more in a bit.

The final part of my post is the weekend. We got a long weekend this week so I decided that what better way to kick off the weekend but with another round of games night. It was tons of fun as usual. So now you all know whats going on with me and i'm going to end this post off with some lovely visuals of my last couple weeks.

Last night i decided I was goin to have a gmaes party. My friends came over and we played lots of card games like fire, hit the deck, and scum. We played other games like disney scene it too. We had lots of food and we watched movies. It was a great time for everyone. So a little tip to everyone out there looking to host a party, plan a games night. Hello All. Today was a long and busy and excited day all rolled into one! my dad and I spent a good chunk of the day painting my room! This morning we were at Home Depot right at opening to choose paint colours. We decided on a nice blue and a beige and a chocolate brown. I also picked and awesome wallpaper pattern for one wall. It is really nice but we won't get to put it up for two weeks because it was special ordered.I'm super excited to see the finished product and i will try to get some before and after pictures on here if I can after the "makeover" is complete

So as most of you already know the familia recently spent 2 wonderful weeks cruising around the Caribbean. It was so much fun! We had aweson weather and we did tons of really fun stuff. We docked in 4 places: Labadee Haiti, Grand Cayman Island, Cozumel Mexico, and Ocho Rios Jamaica. We did some shopping and sigh seeing but my favorite port was Ocho Rios. We went to the Duns River Falls, and ladies and gentelmen I walked up a waterfall. It was really fun. Along with doing an overload of fun stuff, I met some prety awesome people. In the evenings after dinner I would usually go to the teen centre and do alot of fun activities with the 12-14 year olds.

Ok,ok so I haven't posted in a while, but I couldn't help it I was too busy having fun! These last couple weeks I've had school, Karisa and I went to BC and the last 2 days I have been freezing my butt off while I was camping with my class. We drove out to Camp Shekina on Thursday morning and got right to the buisness of "bonding with eachother and the nature around us" Although we had to sustain -35 degree weather, the trip was ultimately a great time. We went snow-shoing, cross-country skiing, tubing, luging, skating, we played broom ball, we learned how to build a fire, and we went on an awesme hike one evening, and we ended off Thursday evening with a campfire and a brief but fun game of Mission Impossible. So for all of you bloggers who are looking to take a camping trip in the next couple months, may I suggest Camp Shekina.

Ladies and Gents this is Kaitlyn reporting to you live in the middle of day 2 of the Warman Snow Day!! I have to tell you everybody, this is exciting for me because I have never had a snow day. The only kicker about this, is that it's too cold to actually play in the snow. I have also discovred that I am diffictent in staying in a house all day. I can't stand it. There is so much fun waiting like three steps away, But I can't play with it! It sucks. But at least we got 2 days off of school becasue of it.

Ok, so I haven't updated in a while... what are you gonna do? sue me?? Anyways, Alot has been happening. We started school again on January 3rd. This was good news for me because I have alot of big projects due and not alot of time to finish them.

In other news... very little has been happening around here. Basicaly the biggest thrill this week was the snow we got. Yay us more snow.

So Christmas has come and past and now it's time to start the 365 day countdown till the next Christmas!! This year was a really good year for many reasons, like the newest edition to our Loewen family, and the great time we had together at the Travelodge on boxing day. I don't have any pictures yet of our Christmas festivities but I can definately tell you they rocked!

Today is the 29th of December which means New Years eve is in 2 days and the activities around the house support that fact. We are doing some baking and making supper reservations and calling friends to see if they have plans to get out of going for dinner :P among other things. This post was a little short given that Christmas just happened but I assure you all that once I can get pictures on here you will be hearing alot more from me! So ladies and gents, it's almost that time of the year again. Yes i'm talking about Christmas. I've been getting pretty excited about that special time of year. I'm not so much excited about getting presants, but more excited about finally getting some time off school. This is the first time basically all year that our school has gone to school for full two weeks without a long weekend!

Christmas is also a fun time for me because I get to see lots of family! Except for all you BC guys who we won't get to see but will miss very much( hoping this feeling is mutual!) I love when all of us get together for supper it's always a great time and I can't wait!

So I know I jus updated yesterday but there was slot of stuff I didn't tell you all about. As I said yesterday, I had o work last night. It was pretty crazy. I got to serve tables instead of scraping dishes. I had no training or anything so I think all in all i didn't do to bad.Schools going pretty good. I've been getting ready for this big feast thing we are havving next Tuesday. veyone dresses up from Medievil times and we have kind of like a play/ dinner thing. Iget to be one of the server girls with some of my friends. It should be fun! OK so I didn't have lots to tell you but I forgot to do it yesterday, so i figured I should fill you all in!

Hey all you bloggers. So it's been a while since i updated, but I haven't had much time these last few days. Why you may ask: well ladies and Gentlemen I would like to inform you that you are reading the blog of the newest Barn Playhouse employee! Yay Katie. I started working on Thursday December 7th. It was a really great first day. I work in the kitchen as a dishwasher/scraper. I scrape the leftover food from the plates into the garbage and our the leftover liquids from cups into a bucket and so so much more. I'm sure it sounds gross but I assure you it's not. Tonight I have to work again but today I get to be one of the servers. I'm pritty excited about working and I have to say this job is 50,000 times better than the paper route! I'll keep you posted!

Snow Week

Well, all the familia in BC are writing about how happy they are for FINALLY getting snow, so i'm gonna brag and rant about how we ALWAYS have snow here in the Wonderful province of Saskatchewan. So We finally got snow after waiting for like a million years! We have been on winter blizzard warning for part of last wek and the past few days this week. We got dumped with snow on Saturday I think and it didn't stop till monday morning... but it didn't last. It snowed all day Monday, and on and off yesterday. It was pretty intence ladies and Gents! So... as of December 18, I am no longer a carrier for the StarPhoenix news paper!!!! I am so very excited to be done.I have called the Barn Playhouse a couple times and yesterday they called me back and told me that I could come down to the yard and fill out an application! That was really exciting. Especially the part about previous job expeariance. I could finally fill in a real job! yay me! So all i have to do now is wait till they call and say they need me to work.I'm pritty excited and ready to try something new!

Choices And Options!

So as you all know i have been doing a paper route for what seems like forever and I am glad to announce that after months of deliberating, I have decided to quit the route. This may not excite any of you but for me, this is like Christmas. So I have thout of an alternate to the route and I have decided that I am going to try and get a job at the Barn Playhouse. For those of you who don't know, the Barn Playhouse is basicaly a remodled barn the serves as a place for people to host different events like weddings, banquets, and such which. It also serves as a place for pereforming plays. If I were to get a job there I would be either working in the craft barn behind the till, or I could be clearing plates in the kitchen when there is a dinner event happening or I could be seating guests or clearing and setting dishes at dinner events. This job would be a million times better than the paper route because i would work up to about 5 hours a day and for minimum wage. I would only work a couple days a month which leaves lots of opperitunities for babysitting, and friends and other stuff. So i'm hoping to get a job, but if not, well then I will think of something else. I'll let you now the results!

This has been a good week for me I guess... Thursday afternoon i took off school so I could catch the bus to Regina to meet my cousins from the Siemens side. so when I got ther we hung out till Saturday morning when we left to go to Minot North Dakota with some other friends of my cousins. We went shopping on Saturday afternoon and all of Sunday and we left this morning. We got back to Regina at 4:15. When we got to Regina I got on a plane and came home. All in all it was a good long weekend. Another thing i want to mention is that our volleyball team is going to Divisions tomorrow in Waldheim so all my Waldheim familia come and watch us play!

So... still not a whole lot going down with Kaitlyn. So i'll tell you all about school. So far this year I have met like 50 new people! They are all great. Other than friends, volleyball still hogs over 45% of my free time. I like al my classes i'm doing quite well in al of them. We found out afew of our avrages the other day and I hold a high 80's to low 90's. Which is very good for me and given that it's so earily in the year. Other than school, violin is going good. Still taking lessons and stuff. That's about all from me. Sorry if this entry was a bit boring, but i wanted to write something but not alot is happening! Thanx for reading anyway!

Last night was Halloween as you all know.Now I didn't go trick r treating but did hang out with my friends. We watched some movies and stuff and had alot of fun. The grand total of trick or teatrs we had at our house was 87.

Yesterday was our big tournament in Clavet. The tournament was super fun but also alot of work. we played some great teams and came out undefeated in our first two games but unfortunately we lost agains Clavet. We placed 2nd in our pool and 3rd in the all over tournament. So good job team! In other news not alot is going on besides the fact that we got some snow last night. Love you all

So as all of you have guessed by now, the most important thing to me right now is Volleyball (most importantschool and after school activities wise). As I said afew blogs ago we placed second in a tournament in Hepurn and tomorrow( Oct.28) our team will be travelling to Clavet which is about an hour away from warman to play in the biggest tournament so far and we are all VERY nervous! After we finish this tournament we gat a WHOLE day of rest before we play another game Monday and then we play another game on Thursday then we have yet another tournament next Saturday in Osler or as we reffer to it as LOSER! ( if you rearange the letters in Osler you get loser hence the nickname!) THEN we got to Waldhiem sorry if i spelled it wrong but we travel to Waldheim to play in another tournament or it might the Reginals or something like that. So all you Waldheim family members a tip that i will be at your school on a Tuesday to play an all day tourney so some out! But anyway just wanted to let you know thats what my current situation is. So wish us luck and i'll let you know how everything goes. Oh and on anpther note, school has been SUPER SUPER busy and stressful but also really fun!

Well I've been falling behind in my blog and i appoligize to everyone! So i'll give you a quick rundown of the happenings with Katie. This last Saturday, our volleyball team at school had a tournament in Hepurn. I'm happy to tell you all we placed second. It was alot of fun and alot of work. Other than that, I've been busy with school as usual. Warman got it's first taste of winter yesterday. So this morning it was a little challenging to do the paper route but thats OK. On Thursday night, our family is going to Edmonton to go shopping. At least that's what Karisa, mom and I are doing. Dad gets the wonderful job of going to meetings while we shop ALL DAY! ya for us. Well that's basicly it for now.I'm sorry I don't have anything more intriguing to post right now. But when something happens I'll try to let you ALL know!

Getting Involved

Tomorrow, should be very interesting for me. It will be my first expierience with Sod. That's right I get the pleasure of laying grass for 6 wonderful hours. Our school has finaly gotten to the renovation stage of laying grass and planting trees etc. Our SRC has been volunteered to help lay sod over the next 2 days. So I'm sure i'll be sore and tired tomorrow night!

Well it's officialy October! Which means it's only 2 months till Christmas! yay. So What's new with you you may ask? well not a heck of alot. These past few weks have been busy and boring. I've been busy with alot of school activities like Volleyball, and SRC and homework and such. And yes I'm still doing Violin despite my lack of favor toward the instrament. So just to let everyone know whats new with me.

Oh, and by the way I did recieve an Email from Hero Holiday. They said I qualify for the trip and I also have a potential travel buddy. My cousin, Kelsey. She is from the Siemens side and she has decided she wants to com ewith me on the trip so we just have to fully convince HER parents before we can put the application in the mail! I'll be sure to let you know the turn out.

When I was in Nipawin at the SLC confrence I hear a lecture all about this group called Absolute. They are an organization that talks to teens about everyday stuff we deal with in life. They talked about this "trip" they take every year. It's called Hero Holiday. What this is, is it's a 10 day trip to the Dominican Republic to help build houses and safe drinking water lines and stuff like that. I decided that this would be an AMAZING oppritunity for me so after talking tothe parents and getting the OK I downloaded and application. The cost of the trip is $2100 . And so that means I have some MAJOR work to do! The other thing is I have to make sure i am the right age to apply. On the website they stated that you have to be 14 years old to go on the trip. They also said you have to be 14 years old to apply. So i just have to clarifyif i an old enough to apply. If i'm not I will DEFINATELY be applying next year. Hopefully all goes well and i can take the trip! I'll be sure to keep you updated!

Sports And Recreation

Yesterday( September 21) Was A very exciting day for me. Only because yesterday was my first volleyball game. It may not be very exciting for many of you but being that volleyball is my all time favorite sport for very specific reasons like its a non contact sport (so i can't get hurt!) , and I'm actualy good at it! I also have to say that I was the player who scored the winning point for Warman High School's Jr. girls volleyball team. I'm hoping that our team can do alot better than last year and hopefuly make it to the provincial championships. We have a tournament in the middle of October so i'm very excited for that. On another note, I have started up violin lessons again and those are going well as usual. I'm looking forward to this year of different activities for myself. I hope all goes well!

Confrence Crazy

Today at about 6:00pm our bus returned home from Nipawin SK from the Student Leadership Confrence 2006. We Arrived at L.P Miller High School on Wednesday Night at about 4:30pm. We Started off the two and a half day confrence with a grafitti night. When you first arrived at the school you recieved a duffel bag full of coupons and brochures and things and a Tshirt.The Point of grafitti night was to go around to different students from different schools and get them to sign your Tshirt as a way to meet different people. After we finished Grafitting we were called to the gymnaysium for a magic show. The show ws really entertaining. After the show we stayed in our seats to watch a hypnotist show, which was HYSTERICAL. That was a great way to kick off the confrence. Day two of the confrence started off with a keynote speaker. His name was Phil. He talked al about different activities that you can do around your school to make it a better place to be. After that speaker we listened to another speaker her name was Georgette Reed. She was an Olympic Medalist. Then after lunch we listened to another speaker. His name was Ian Tyson( not the country singer!) He was really funny. That night we had a big Banquet and a dance. Everyone dressed up in clothes from decades gone by. I dressed up from the 80's. It was alot of fun! All in all the few day we had in Nipawin were alot of fun and i can't wait till next year when Warman High School Hosts the confrence!

Today was West Portal Churches first youth Sunday School of the year and i just had to say, I'm pritty excited to start youth again. It's always amazes me that God does things that are unbelievable. Hopefully all goes well with the year and we can learn and connect with God in amazing ways!

Well today was day 3 of our new school year and so far it's going ok. The school still isn't quite done but thats ok. On september 5th my parents had their 19th wedding anniversary. They had a great day. The 2 of them both had to work that day which kinda sucked but after they got home they went for supper just the 2 of them which was nice. Yesterday was my grandma Siemens birthday and so mom took her for lunch durring the day then i went along with the 2 of them for supper at the berry barn. so all in all i think all the celebrating of the week went quite well! I have 1 more thing I would like to share with the blogger crew! Today I found out that I was chosen from our school's Student Representitive Counsil (SRC) To go to a Studend Leadership Confrence in Nipowin Next week from Wednesday Afternoon to Friday night. We are going to be listening to different seminars about hings that we can do for our school and things like that. We also have a dance one night for all 1200 students attending this confrence. So i hope it will be a learning an a fun few days for our school. I hope we get there safe and have a great week!

Today Is Monday September 4th. Tomorrow on the 5th alot will be happening in this the Loewen household. Tomorrow is not only the first day of school for us in Warman , but it is also the 19th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Loewen (my parents). And I am happy to say they are both very excited and are still verry happy. Tomorrow being their anniversary , that means the next day will be the 67th birthday of my grandma Siemens and the 14th birthday of my cousin Kelsey Siemens. So as you can tell this will be a rather busy week for the Loewens and Siemens. I'll be sure to tell you how everything goes.

Cats and Dogs

Last Week at our Loewen BBQ Jeff was telling all us Loewens about how he was trying to be more respectful in church by not laughing as loud as he normaly does (which is quite loud!). And to give us an example of how difficult it is for him to do this, he compared himself to a person trying to teach a cat to bark. And so we wanted to see if a cat could bark. And if a cat could bark, we would know that Jeff could be quiet in church. We knew 1 person that would try to teach a cat to bark, and that was my younger cousin Jenna. Yesterday at our "party" Jenna anounced that she had attempted to teach her cat to bark. And apparently it was an unsuccesful attempt. She said that she barked to let her cat hear the sound it was supposed to make, but it just " sat there and looked at me!"

Early Morning Riser

As Most of you know I have been doing my own paper route for the last 4 months. And I am happy to say it is going quite well. But i do have to say that every once in a while I feel like pushing the sleeper button on my alarm clock. I just keep thinking about the paycheck i get at the end of every month! But I guess you have to sacrifice certain things to make some money!

Bocce Ball

Well last night was the Loewen BBQ. And of course we HAD to play a tounament of Bocce Ball. It was alot of fun. Jeff (my cousin) had a little bit of a tempure tanturm. He was angry that April, one of the newest cousin's in our family got to organize who played against who. And Jeff couldn't understand that April got more of a say than him because she is alot more organized the Jeff. (At least that's what I think) And I just also have to mention that Jeff and Nate lost their final game to Jocelynn and Rosanna, their wives. So I think they may be out for a bit of revenge this Friday night when we all get together again for another gathering at my family's house. So everyone: you better got to practicing if you want to be the Loewen Boce Ball Champion.

Family Gathering

Tonight Our Family, The Loewens Are getting together for supper At one of my aunts house. The reason for the supper is because some of my cousin Rosanna and Her Husband Nate are visiting us from British Columbia. And It's been forever since we last saw them... NOT! Our family was just in BC a couple of weeks ago for another one of my cousin's wedding (Jared). So this should be an interesting evening!

Hello To Everyone reading this. I have to tell you this is my first blog so you may have to wait a bit untill i can get this whole thing sorted out!. I have to say that at this moment nothing huge is happening to me. We start school in a week so i guess that counts as a little something!
